Audition opportunities

At our auditions on September 6 and 8, we will be casting the following performance opportunities:

 

The Bremen Town Musicians: our education/outreach operetta

  • SATB quartets of alternates/covers, for morning/afternoon performances at local grade schools and senior living communities

  • Rehearsals in late September; performances throughout the fall

  • Judy Cooper, music director

  • Mark Lynch, stage director

  • This is a PAID engagement

 

1776: A semi-staged, all-female concert adaptation of the Tony-Award winning musical

  • Cast of seven women to play Abigail Adams/Narrator, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and their three supporters/adversaries (dual roles)

  • Five rehearsals in October; music memorized, script on book

  • Performance on October 30, 7PM in Guild Hall, Plymouth Congregational Church

  • Maureen Kane Berg, Stage Director

  • Carson Rose Schneider, Music Director

  • This is a PAID engagement

 

Veterans Day concerts at metro area senior living communities

  • SATB groups of 4-8 singers per venue

  • Patriotic music with piano

  • Solo opportunities

  • Judy Cooper, pianist

  • This engagement is on a VOLUNTEER basis

 

Holiday caroling parties

  • SATB groups of 4-8 singers per performance

  • Traditional secular music with piano

  • Solo opportunities

  • Judy Cooper, pianist

  • This engagement is paid a STIPEND funded by donations to RDO; exact amounts TBD

That’s Amore: Cupid on Broadway!

  • SATB singers perform solos, duets, and ensembles from Broadway musicals

  • Late January/early February rehearsals as needed

  • One ticketed public performance (2/14/27); preview/encore performances TBA

  • This engagement is paid a STIPEND funded by donations to RDO; exact amounts TBD

 

From Menotti to Barber: A Benefit Performance

  • Scenes from 20th century opera, including a centenary tribute to Carlisle Floyd

  • Spring 2027; details TBA.

 

**A new opera** by Basil Considine based on the courageous life of Deborah Sampson, Revolutionary War heroine

  • In co-production with Really Spicy Opera

  • Quintet of soloists, plus SATB ensemble of 8-12

  • Callbacks with the composer will follow season auditions later this fall

  • Workshops tentatively begin in January 2027 

  • Premiere: May 2027

  • Music Director TBA

  • Gary Briggle, Dramaturg

  • This is a PAID engagement
