2026-2027 Season Auditions
Auditions for the coming season concluded on September 8th. A huge Thank You to everyone who participated! We had more enthusiasm, and more impressive auditions, than ever before!
Casting for "1776" and " The Bremen Town Musicians" will be announced shortly, and ensembles for concerts in honor of our Veterans will be assembled soon. Callbacks will be held later this fall for the new opera by Basil Considine about Deborah Sampson, to be workshopped in late January and premiered in late May 2027.

Our popular Voice Labs return with RDO's Executive and Artistic Director Gary Briggle, and collaborative pianist and voice coach Alan Johnson.

Nautilus Music-Theater
1776 with An All-Female Cast (October 30)
Timed to occur on the birthday of Founding Father John Adams, this production of the beloved musical 1776 will feature women in all the major roles: Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Dickenson, Abigail Adams, and of course John Adams.

Annual "That's Amore!" concert: Cupid on Broadway
Saturday, February 14, 2027
This yearly favourite, a full concert of love songs featuring singers from RDO's roster, will take a break from opera this year and instead feature selections from Broadway shows about love.

New Deborah Sampson opera, by composer Basil Considine, to premiere in May 2027
In co-production with Really Spicy Opera, this new commission by composer Basil Considine will tell the story of the Revolutionary War Heroine Deborah Sampson. It will feature a quintet of soloists, plus an SATB ensemble of 8-12.
Auditions for this opera concluded on September 8th. Callbacks with the composer will follow later this fall, with workshops tentatively beginning in January 2027.
